I got this for my boyfriend because he’s an electrical technician/handyman/pinball restoration & repair guy. So he’s is always fiddling around with something. Especially the lights because he’s in process of switching them all out to LEDS, so when I seen this I knew he would find it useful.
He is very happy with it except it can be a little to sensitive which causes a false reading sometimes but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it’s always best to be safe than sorry.
It lights up on a meter showing the strength of the voltage & the beeps will continue to beep louder & faster as it goes up. There is also an LED flashlight at the tip so when your working in the dark you can see what you are doing.
It’s made well & although to me it just had a cheap appeal he said it seems pretty durable that’s built to last awhile. It works excellent & there isn’t any problems trying to get an accurate reading. It detects power in a matter of seconds. It that’s 2 AAA batteries that are included, which is always nice.
It’s a good gift to get the man in your life especially if they like to tinker around with electrical fixtures. I know now that he has the perfect tool to keep him safe, while he’s changing our lights to LEDs. Plus it gives me a piece of mind knowing for sure that there isn’t any power coming through while he’s changing them out.
